Weekly Awesome 10.13

October 13, 2011

I know he’s not a woman, but this quote is so important for everyone to really focus on that I wanted to share it. Take it to heart.

~Stuff I pinned. (Awesome.)
~Real women have curves, and not. (Truth)
~Speak your mind, even if your voice shakes. (This gave me chills.)

    Wise words indeed.
easier to say than to do – but I’m working on it, bit by bit.

Maybe we can give him the compliment of being an honorary woman.

Isn’t his statement, “Don’t be trapped by dogma — which is living with the results of other people’s thinking” a dogmatic statement that we should similarly ignore? That’s like saying, “Don’t take anyone else’s advice but mine.”

Well, but when anyone says, “Listen to your heart” or something along those lines the same could be true. “Listen to your heart… and me.” I think wisdom is like The Universe (or God, or any Name you prefer) speaking through someone, and once you forget it’s a human who is saying it, it’s easier to understand.

I loved the story “speak your mind even if your voice shakes.” We see that same thing happen even here or in the SOAM. Sometimes a mom who looks “good” according to the social standard will come and say a word or a sentence that will make the rest feel that they are “fat” because they are lazy, eat too much, etc. So it’s not only doctors who are doing this…we, women, are doing it to each other. It doesnt matter how we are shaped, too thin, too heavy or anything in between…we are women and THAT makes us beautiful.
