~People Magazine did a story featuring famous women without makeup. Despite this article’s relatively negative review, I think the idea is awesome. It grounds us and reminds us that famous people are people. It’s not a judgement either way of what women look like or whether they should wear makeup, or how we should feel about beautiful women or makeup – it’s simply a statement of facts: These women look this way. Beautiful. Either way. This item I pinned earlier in the week has the same general idea, but with a lot more images.
~So I’ve loved Kristen Bell for awhile now. And I loved her more when I saw this video about her encounter with a sloth. Because not only is she cute as hell, but she’s also comfortable enough with herself that she sees no shame in being emotional (awesome!) and is willing to share a video she considers embarrassing. And then my friend Bethany alerted me to a Twitter movement ( #30dayhomies ) that she’s leading with the intent to get fit. Some of her tweets are really inspiring. Someone get that girl a sloth. And some soft pillows to land on if she faints.
~These four young women are running for congress. Maybe we can change that chart I posted above if we get more women in the government.
